Cross Sales and Engineering Co. is founded by Bill Cross
Edwards Engineering Co. - Atlanta, GA (Mobile Systems Integration)
Edwards Engineering was the first of several acquisitions to expand our fluid power business. Based in Atlanta, GA, Edwards Engineering expanded our offering throughout the Southeast.
Airdraulics Inc. - Chattanooga, TN (Mobile Systems Integration)
Another addition to our fluid power business, Airdraulics was acquired which expanded our fluid power business throughout the Eastern Tennessee region.
Fluid Dynamics - Birmingham, AL (Mobile Systems Integration)
Based in Birmingham, AL, Fluid Dynamics was acquired to expand our fluid power offering throughout the Birmingham, Alabama region.
Mueller Engineering Co. - Mobile, AL
Mueller Engineering was acquired by Cross and joined our fluid power operations in Alabama to further expand our offering into the southern region of the U.S.
System Components - Conyers, GA (Process Solutions)
Founded in 1982, System Components was a titan in the fluid controls industry, adding a range of expertise and new territory to to create what is now our process solutions group (at the time, our systems components group).
Motionex - Charlotte, NC (Automation)
Founded in 1988, Motionex was an automation technology distributor of motion control and factory automation solutions. With a highly technical team of sales engineers, customer service, and operations staff, Motionex evolved into what is now our Automation Group
JMT Automation and Conrols - Gastonia, NC (Automation)
Founded in 1971, JMT Automation and Controls was a family business with 82 team members. They offered a range of process automaton solutions and joined our Motionex team, and together, evolved into what is now our Automation Group.
Alt Controls - Richmond, VA (Mobile Systems Integration)
Founded in 1976, Alt Controls Inc. offered pneumatic control solutions throughout Virginia and the mid-Atlantic region.
Automatic Controls - Knoxville, TN (Process Solutions)
ValiAir - Birmingham, AL (Automation)
Founded in 1981 ValiAir Controls offered industrial control systems integration throughout the Southeast. They were acquired by Cross in 2001 and expanded our automation solution offering.
Regan Controls - Charlotte, NC (Automation)
Founded in 1981, Regan Controls Inc. offered industrial automation products for the manufacturing industry. They joined our Motionex and JMT teams, to become what is now our Automation Group.
Techni-Test - Greenville, SC (Precision Measurement)
Founded in 1992, Techni-test was a precision measurement company specializing in a range of disciplines. They were acquired by J.A. King (now our precision measurement group) and expanded our precision measurement service offering throughout South Carolina.
Ward Technical Sales - Charlotte, NC (Automation, Process Solutions)
Founded in 1979, Ward Technical Services brought a range of expertise to our automation (pneumatics) and process solutions (instrumentation) groups.
NC Measurements - Raleigh, NC (Precision Measurement)
NC Measurements was acquired by J.A. King (now our precision measurement group) and expanded our expertise in precision measurement, while strengthening our presence in central North Carolina.
McDonald Scale - Chattanooga, TN (Precision Measurement)
Founded in 1971, McDonald Scale was acquired by J.A. King (now our precision measurement group) and expanded our precision measurement service offering throughout southeast Tennessee and parts of Georgia.
Williams Scale - Washington, NC (Precision Measurement)
Williams Scale was acquired by J.A. King (now our precision measurement group) and expanded our scale services offering throughout eastern North Carolina.
Asheville Hose and Equipment - Asheville, NC (Hose and Fittings)
Founded in 1981, Asheville Hose and Equipment was a leading supplier of hydraulic hose products in the Western North Carolina area. Acquired by Cross in 2007, the team in Asheville offers the same great customer service they have since 1981.
Innovative Controls - Knoxville, TN (Process Solutions)
Founded in 1991, Innovative Controls brought with it a range of engineering expertise in process control systems. Acquired by Cross in 2008, it became our process control integration group and along with our process instrumentation team, evolved into what is now our process solutions group.
Palmetto Scale - Columbia, SC (Precision Measurement)
Founded in 1958, Palmetto Scale was acquired by J.A. King (our precision measurement group) and expanded our precision measurement offering throughout South Carolina.
Tennessee Scale Works - Nashville, TN (Precision Measurement)
Founded in 1946, Tennessee Scale Works was acquired by J.A. King (now our precision measurement group) and expanded our precision measurement offering throughout middle Tennessee.
Scale Source - KY, OK, IA, NE (Precision Measurement)
Founded in 1976, Scale Source was acquired by J.A. King (now our precision measurement group) and with locations in Kentucky, Oklahoma, Iowa and Nebraska greatly expanded our service territory into the mid-west.
Delta Scale - Charlotte, NC (Precision Measurement)
Founded in 1982, Delta Scale was acquired by J.A. King (now our precision measurement group) and expanded our precision measurement offering throughout the Charlotte, NC metro area and the surrounding area.
Kanawah Scale & Systems - Memphis, TN (Precision Measurement)
Founded in 2008, Kanawha Scales & Systems operation in Memphis was acquired by J.A. King (now our precision measurement group) and expanded our precision measurement offering throughout eastern Tennessee.
Anderson Scale - Carlile, IA (Precision Measurement)
Anderson Scale was acquired by J.A. King (now our precision measurement group) and expanded our precision measurement offering throughout Iowa.
Accurate Laboratories - Oklahoma City, OK (Precision Measurement)
Founded in 2000, Accurate Laboratories offered a range of precision measurement services throughout Oklahoma. in 2017 it was acquired by J.A. King (now our precision measurement group) and expanded our dimensional measurement expertise and precision measurement offering into the region.
B&C Instruments - Huntsville, AL (Precision Measurement)
Founded in 1969 in Huntsville, AL, B&C Instruments was one of the oldest calibration laboratories in the southeastern U.S. In 2017, they were acquired by J.A. King (now our precision measurement group) and further expanded our precision measurement offering throughout the northern Alabama region.
Tucker Testing Service - Oklahoma City, OK (Grain Testing)
Founded in 1984, Tucker Testing Service was acquired by J.A. King (now our precision measurement group) in 2017 and added expertise in grain handling solutions such as grain protein analyzers, grain moisture analyzers, NIR spectrophotometers, and more.
Trace 1 Calibrations - Tulsa, OK (Precision Measurement)
Founded in 2001, Trace 1 Calibrations was a precision measurement company serving northeast Oklahoma. In 2017, it was acquired by J.A. King (now our precision measurement group) and expanded our precision measurement offering throughout northeast Oklahoma and the surrounding area.
J.A. King - Greensboro, NC (Precision Measurement)
Founded in 1939, J.A. King was a leader in precision measurement throughout the southeast and midwest U.S. With over 400 associates, J.A. King joined Cross Company in 2018 and became our Precision Measurement Group.
Flow Tech - Hunt Valley, MD (Process Solutions)
Founded in 1984, Flow Tech greatly expanded our process service offering throughout the mid-Atlantic area, with several experts in flow measurement technologies.
Regal Metrology - Louisville, KY (Precision Measurement)
Founded in 1994, Regal Metrology expanded our precision measurement offering, with new product lines and expertise in specific areas such as beverage packaging, food packaging and aerosol canning.
