Cross Company History – JMT Automation and Controls
Founded in 1971, JMT Automation and Controls, Inc. offered a range of process automation solutions such as PLCs and PC based control systems, as well as motion control systems and AC/DC stepper and servo hardware. Headquartered in Gastonia, NC, they had nine sales office locations throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia, providing automation solutions to OEM’s systems integrators, end users, and other distributors.
A family business with 82 team members, they offered a culture based on customer service and quality and, along with their technical expertise in automation, made their operation an excellent candidate to join Cross Company. In 1997, Cross Company acquired JMT, along with Motionex, our other automation team at the time, they evolved into what is now the Cross Automation Group.
