Pilot-operated relief valves operate through the use of tank pressure acting on the actuator diaphragm. This transfers a force to the pallet that holds the valve closed. They can be instrumental in controlling evaporation losses or helping meet environmental regulations.

Pressure and Vacuum Relief Valves (PVRVs) primarily function as tank protection devices typically installed on a nozzle opening at the top of a fixed roof, low pressure (15 psig and lower) storage tank. They protect your tank from pressure changes during standard operation.

The Importance of Pressure Management Equipment

Industrial processes across many industries rely on accurate and reliable pressure management devices to maintain smooth operations, prevent unexpected downtime, and meet potential compliance or regulatory requirements. This can include oil and gas, chemical manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, and many more.

Proper pressure control is necessary for maintaining optimal operating conditions, ensuring a high-quality product, maximized operational efficiency, and increased safety for personnel and process equipment. On the flip side, inefficient or sub-optimal pressure management devices can significantly negatively impact your operations. They lead to product defects, safety hazards, energy waste, and increased operational costs.

Implementing effective pressure management solutions and procedures is necessary for your operations to run smoothly. And when you partner with Cross, we’ll work directly with you to ensure you’re getting the exact pressure management equipment you need.
