Onsite Dimensional Inspection Services

Precise Dimensional Inspection Methods

The precision measurement group at Cross can bring our inspection capabilities to you. There are some common applications for which on-site dimensional inspection may be necessary. These include measurement of large, heavy parts or assemblies, objects that must be measured in-situ, when there is heightened concern of damage or loss in transit, or when customer direction or witnessing is required. Our experienced inspection technicians can travel to your facility to take measurements directly on your manufacturing floor or in one of your labs!

Cross utilizes state of the art inspection equipment, including a new FARO Quantum S Portable CMM with laser scanning capability. This enables us to provide both contact inspection via touch probe and non-contact inspection via laser scanner on-site at your facility. Non-contact 3D scanning allows us to perform inspections that are difficult or impossible utilizing probing, such as flush and gap, and enables us to scan across a variety of surfaces, even those that are reflective.

If you’re looking for precise and reliable onsite dimensional inspection services, you’ve come to the right place.

Benefits of Onsite Dimensional Inspection Services

There are many cases where it is impossible or impractical to send equipment in need of inspection to an inspection or calibration lab. The equipment may be too large, too fragile, or too critical to justify the time or expense. For those situations, Cross offers onsite inspection services for dimensional equipment.

Think of Cross as an extension of your own engineering department. We’ll work with you as an extension of your own support staff to ensure that your equipment is operating properly and up-to-date on any maintenance concerns. Whether it’s first article inspection (FAI) or tool verification, we can perform many laboratory inspections without your equipment ever needing to leave the production line.
