Control Valve Repair

Control Valve Repair Services

Repair procedures are essential for constantly moving components like control valves. Since they’re always working, they will wear out faster than an on/off block valve or similar parts. Due to their necessary and specialized functions, they are also considerably more costly to replace. This makes regular maintenance important for control valves. Further, if it just needs a part repaired, a control valve repair service can provide more value than simply replacing the entire valve.

Whether it’s repair services for hydraulic, pneumatic, or electric control valves, you need a reliable valve repair company nearby that can provide the repairs or maintenance you need while providing a quick turnaround and unbeatable customer service. You need a company like Cross.

At Cross Process Solutions group, we can provide the control valve maintenance, repair, and inspection services your operation needs to ensure predictable future performance. When you need services for your control valve, think Cross control valve repair and maintenance.

To Repair or To Replace?

A question we receive frequently is if a valve in need of maintenance should be repaired or simply replaced. There are different philosophies on this.

The first is to just continue running the control valve until it is too broken or worn down to successfully control your process. When that point comes, remove and replace the valve with a new one. This approach has significant drawbacks, however. If your process needs to run constantly without significant interruption or downtime, the amount of time it takes to shut down components and replace them could be prohibitive.

The second is the preventative maintenance schedule. This involves regularly scheduled inspection and repair to determine if any components need to be tuned up or exchanged. Typically, this is performed during scheduled shut-downs for plant-wide maintenance or inspection. This limits the amount of potential downtime and helps safe-guard against catastrophic failure.

The third is a predictive maintenance approach. With advances in software monitoring and analytics, valve components can be accurately measured and monitored. This can allow for predictions about when parts will become worn or in need of replacement. This can let you stop problems before they occur or prevent incorrect diagnosis of control valves.

At Cross, we utilize a combination of preventative and predictive maintenance to reduce the risk of unexpected shutdown or catastrophic failure that may accompany a damaged control valve.

Pneumatic Or Electronic Control Valve Maintenance

Pneumatic control valves use a combination of positioners and pneumatic actuators to open or close the valve at a specific position in the valve stroke. Whether it’s maintenance for an older model pneumatic control valve with direct control diaphragms or a system with positioners, Cross has the pneumatic control valve maintenance and repair expertise to ensure your valves are working as expected.

We are also capable of providing repair services for electronic control valves. These valves utilize servo cards built into the actuators, meaning they open and close precisely by starting and stopping an electric motor. Other features are utilized to keep the valve in the desired position.

Many different process systems maintain pneumatic, electric, or a combination of both to guarantee successful production. For that reason, it’s crucial to work with a company who’s familiar with a wide range of control valves, from air-powered to electric.

Cross can help with that. Our expertly trained and experienced valve repair technicians are able to provide repair services for valves, valve maintenance services, valve inspection, and many other control valve procedures.
