What Is A Cobot?
A cobot, or collaborative robot, is a robot designed to operate alongside humans. Unlike larger industrial robots, cobots are compact and engineered for safety. They can share workspaces with humans and are equipped to stop operations if someone approaches too closely. Cobots are primarily programmed for repetitive tasks, which enhances productivity and efficiency within businesses, enabling human workers to focus on more intricate and challenging responsibilities.
What Are Cobots Used For?
- Assembly: Cobots are often used to handle precise assembly tasks, such as putting together small electronic components or complex mechanical parts.
- Machine Tending: Cobots can manage loading and unloading of machines, such as CNC machines and press brakes, allowing human workers to focus on other, more complex tasks.

- Quality Inspection: Cobots perform visual inspections and quality control checks, ensuring consistency and accuracy in product quality.
