Ultraviolet-A (UVA)

One of the three classifications of ultraviolet light produced by the sun as well as man-made light sources.

Ultraviolet-B (UVB)

One of the three classifications of ultraviolet light produced by the sun as well as man-made light sources.

Unbalanced Load

An AC power system using more than two wires, where the current is not equal in the current-carrying wires due to an uneven loading of the phases.

Union (Connection)

The length/diameter adjusting fitting between two nipples or between sensor/connection head and pipe nipple.

Units (of measure)

A determinate quantity (as of length, time, heat, or value) adopted as a standard of measurement. The SI is made up of 7 base units that define the 22 derived units with special names and symbols.

Universal Length Machine

A precision measuring device for external and internal measurements with a measuring range of up to 120mm.

Universal Serial Bus (USB)

A type of interface that allows communication between a host controller and other devices.

Did you know... A fingerprint weighs about 50 micrograms. We know, we weighed it! The residue left from a finger can actually make a difference in weight results which is why we wear gloves when we calibrate weights. For reference, a sheet of paper is about 4.5 grams, that’s 4.5 million micrograms.
