Manometer Calibration

Manometer Calibration Services

Manometers are a type of differential pressure gauge often used in industrial settings to measure pressure differentials. At a basic level, they measure a difference in pressure with a U-shaped tube which is exposed to different pressure conditions at each end.

Typically, their tube is filled with a liquid substance, such as mercury. A scale on the tube provides a reference as the liquid moves back and forth from one end of the tube to the other based on pressure levels on each side.

Manometers (and other tools used to measure pressure in closed systems) may need to consistently measure a variety of different kinds of pressure. From absolute to differential to gauge, it’s important that your equipment be able to provide accurate readings on levels of pressure your process may encounter. That’s why it’s so important to work with an experienced and professional manometer calibration company. A company like Cross Precision Measurement.

Precision Pressure Gauge Calibration

Available in both stationary (often analog) and digital handheld models, manometers are used in an array of industrial settings such as pressurized gas, liquid storage tanks, paint booths, and fume hoods. Many of which need to maintain a negative pressure for operator safety.

Whether a traditional or digital model is used, calibration or verification is important to ensure accurate readings. Cross technicians can perform manometer calibration with NIST traceable master pressure standards so you can be sure your systems are operating correctly and your operators are safe.

Cross calibration services are always performed using proven, NIST traceable calibration procedures. That means using standard and efficient methods for minimally-invasive calibration procedures with a quick turnaround time. Our technicians also make use of master standards to ensure that our customers are getting the most accurate calibrations possible. These include surface plates, angle blocks, sine bars, and many others. These tools allow us to perform precise and comprehensive measurements to ensure proper calibration at a minimum of four test points.

In addition to equipment calibration services, our team provides as-found as-left readings with a certificate of calibration. These certificates are always available 24/7 through GageSuite®, the Cross online calibration certificate tracking and storage system.

Two of the most important considerations when it comes to calibration for manufacturing and commercial applications are consistency and accuracy. So at Cross Precision Measurement, we strive to provide every one of our customers with the highest degree of accuracy in their calibrations. And we provide that service again and again. That way, you know your equipment, machinery, or instrumentation is precisely calibrated every time.

Expert Calibration Equipment and Methods

Performing a manometer calibration procedure involves utilizing a reference device with a higher degree of accuracy than the device under test (DUT). Then the level of accuracy of the DUT is compared to the standard of the traceable device.

While it’s important for a calibration company to be able to perform a manometer calibration procedure, there are other components to performing calibration services that many companies need. Services such as providing calibration certificates. Or offering a system to regularly find and retrieve those certificates. Or even providing a system to monitor calibration status so you’re ready when the time comes to recalibrate. And provide all of that while providing a quick turnaround to get your operation back up and running. These are all things you can expect when partnering with Cross for your manometer (and other equipment) calibration.

It’s important to have a manometer calibration company that you can trust. But when you work with Cross, you’re getting more than just a manometer calibration company. Our fully-equipped calibration laboratories and expertly-trained technicians are able to perform the metrological services you need, from equipment calibration to inspection services. We can even provide the precision measurement products from leading brands your operation uses. At Cross, we’re ready and willing to help maintain your operation’s calibration integrity.

Did you know… Cross Company is an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan). Our ESOP started in 1979 and as of 2006, we are 100% employee-owned! Learn more about our ESOP and how that benefits both team members and our customers.
Did you know... the precision measurement group at Cross was founded in 1939 by our current CEO's grandfather, Jim King. That's a whole lot of calibration!
Did you know... A fingerprint weighs about 50 micrograms. We know, we weighed it! The residue left from a finger can actually make a difference in weight results which is why we wear gloves when we calibrate weights. For reference, a sheet of paper is about 4.5 grams, that’s 4.5 million micrograms.
Did you know… Cross Company has grown significantly since our start in 1954. Over the years we've acquired 26 companies! Today, our five groups have expertise in everything from industrial automation to precision measurement, and industry knowledge going all the way back to 1939.
