Differential Pressure Gauge Calibration

Differential Pressure Gauge Calibration Services

Differential pressure gauges are used to measure the difference in applied pressure of two separate environments. They act as a visual monitor for operators to determine values using a single gauge, rather than relying on a comparison of multiple gauges which independently measure pressure.

There are a variety of differential gauge types, which are used based on the requirements of the application. For example, manometers use a U-shaped tube filled with liquid which measures pressure applied at either end. These are frequently used on fume hoods or paint booths where a constant negative pressure is required for operator safety.

If you frequently utilize pressure gauges in your operation, it’s necessary to calibrate them at regular intervals. When you work with Cross Precision Measurement, you not only get expert calibration services, but also reliable measurements, calibration certificates, and access to online calibration schedules so you can always be prepared for any calibration audits.

Precision Gauge Calibration

Other gauges measure pressure from similar dual inlets in the gauge, however, utilizing transducers or pressure points rather than a visual gauge. These are frequently used in scenarios with liquid or gas stored in tanks or moving through lines.

Some types of differential gauges even utilize a magnet positioned on the inside of the gauge next to a metal spiral. As the magnet is moved by incoming air pressure, the spiral rotates to follow it, moving the needle of the gauge along its face.

Using NIST traceable master standards, Cross offers differential pressure gauge calibration for a wide range of pressure levels on a variety of types and models. So no matter which type of gauge you are using, Cross can help to ensure your systems are operating correctly, and that your operators are safe.

Your Local Calibration Company

Cross calibration services are always performed using proven, NIST traceable calibration procedures. That means using standard and efficient methods for minimally-invasive calibration procedures with a quick turnaround time. Our technicians also make use of master standards to ensure that our customers are getting the most accurate calibrations possible. These include surface plates, angle blocks, sine bars, and many others. These tools allow us to perform precise and comprehensive measurements to ensure proper calibration at a minimum of four test points.

In addition to equipment calibration services, our team provides as-found as-left readings with a certificate of calibration. These certificates are always available 24/7 through GageSuite®, the Cross online calibration certificate tracking and storage system.

Two of the most important considerations when it comes to calibration for manufacturing and commercial applications are consistency and accuracy. So at Cross Precision Measurement, we strive to provide every one of our customers with the highest degree of accuracy in their calibrations. And we provide that service again and again. That way, you know your equipment, machinery, or instrumentation is precisely calibrated every time.

We’re looking through thousands of pages to find the most relevant information.

In the meantime, enjoy these fun facts…

Did you know... the precision measurement group at Cross was founded in 1939 by our current CEO's grandfather, Jim King. That's a whole lot of calibration!
Did you know... A fingerprint weighs about 50 micrograms. We know, we weighed it! The residue left from a finger can actually make a difference in weight results which is why we wear gloves when we calibrate weights. For reference, a sheet to paper is about 4.5 grams, that’s 4.5 million micrograms.
Did you know… Cross Company is an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan). Our ESOP started in 1979 and as of 2006, we are a 100% employee owned! Learn more about our ESOP and how that benefits both team members and our customers.
Did you know… Cross Company has grown significantly since our start in 1954. Over the years we've acquired 26 companies! Today, our five groups have expertise in everything from industrial automation to precision measurement, and industry knowledge going all the way back to 1939.
