Thermometer Calibration

Thermometer Calibration Services

Industrial Thermometers and temperature probes are found in a wide variety of applications throughout many industries. Whether it’s storage freezers in the food and beverage industry, curing ovens in a manufacturing facility, or laboratory autoclaves, there are an array of thermometer and temperature probe types for different applications. It’s important to perform thermometer calibration in order to ensure these devices are accurate.

One of the most common and oldest types of temperature measurement devices is the glass thermometer. More fragile than probes or bi-metal thermometers, these devices use a substance such as mercury with thermal expansion properties which is held within a glass chamber associated with a visual scale.

The bi-metal thermometer is another type of analog thermometer which works by utilizing the expansion qualities in two separate metals. Typically, a gauge is connected directly to the pair of metals and displays the corresponding temperature.

If you’re regularly working with industrial thermometers, temperature probes, or other temperature measurement devices, they’ll need to be regularly calibrated to ensure continued accuracy. Cross Precision Measurement is able to provide the calibrated thermometer your operation needs.

Calibration for Thermometers

Another variety of temperature measuring devices are temperature probes, which include types such as resistance thermometers or resistance temperature detectors (RTDs) and thermistors. These devices typically utilize a temperature dependent resistor which is used to measure temperature.

The precision measurement group at Cross provides thermometer calibration services for all of the above temperature measuring devices. Our ISO 17025 accredited calibration procedures involve generating known temperatures at various set points with highly accurate dry well calibrators and reporting as found, as left data on a certificate of calibration.

With 24/7 access to Cross certificates using our GageSuite® calibration tracking, your quality team always has the information they need, to prove your equipment is performing accurately.
