Metrology Glossary: Sunlight Simulation
What Is Sunlight Simulation?
Also referred to as solar testing, sun simulation testing is a type of environmental testing which subjects products to radiation mimicking that of the sun. Sun simulation testing often includes the control and exposure of other environmental test parameters such as temperature and humidity as well.
Sunlight Simulation Examples and Usage
Sun simulation testing is often performed inside a climate chamber outfitted with lamps whose output are designed to mimic solar radiation. Sunlight simulation chambers range in size from small tabletop chambers to large scale chambers large enough to fit entire vehicles.
