Product Overview

The Starrett L-Series software suite transforms any motorized test stand into a powerful, digital workstation designed to meet the rigorous demands of modern quality control and R&D. By offering three distinct tiers of capability—L2 for Force Measurement, L2 Plus for Force Analysis, and L3 for Material Characterization—this suite provides a “Better Way” for users to capture, analyze, and manage their testing data. All versions feature a touchscreen-friendly, Windows-based interface that simplifies test setup and eliminates the need for manual calculations.

Whether you are performing simple peak-load checks on a production floor or determining Young’s Modulus for a new composite in a laboratory, the L-Series software scales to your needs. The software integrates seamlessly with Starrett’s FMS, FMD, MMS, and MMD frames, ensuring that as your testing requirements grow more complex, your hardware remains a constant, reliable platform for precision.

Features and Benefits

Scalable Functionality: Seamlessly upgrade from basic force testing (L2) to advanced graphical analysis (L2 Plus) or full material characterization (L3) as your project requirements evolve.

Intuitive Touch Interface: Optimized for Windows 10/11 touchscreen workstations, raising efficiency by reducing the learning curve for new operators.

Post-Test Graphical Analysis: (L2 Plus/L3) Use interactive tools to measure any point or segment on a high-resolution graph after the test is complete, improving quality through deeper data insights.

Standardized Testing Templates: Includes pre-built setups for ASTM, ISO, and DIN standards, lowering risk by ensuring compliance with international testing protocols.

Automated Pass/Fail Results: Set tolerance limits that provide instant visual cues to operators, accelerating high-volume production testing.

Dual-Channel Extensometer Support: (L3 only) Capture precise strain and elongation data for true material property validation, essential for aerospace and medical applications.

Advanced Data Export: Easily export raw data or professional PDF reports to CSV and Excel formats for seamless integration into your LIMS or quality management system.

Did you know… Cross Company is an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan). Our ESOP started in 1979 and as of 2006, we are 100% employee-owned! Learn more about our ESOP and how that benefits both team members and our customers.
Did you know... the precision measurement group at Cross was founded in 1939 by our current CEO's grandfather, Jim King. That's a whole lot of calibration!
Did you know... A fingerprint weighs about 50 micrograms. We know, we weighed it! The residue left from a finger can actually make a difference in weight results which is why we wear gloves when we calibrate weights. For reference, a sheet of paper is about 4.5 grams, that’s 4.5 million micrograms.
Did you know… Cross Company has grown significantly since our start in 1954. Over the years we've acquired 26 companies! Today, our five groups have expertise in everything from industrial automation to precision measurement, and industry knowledge going all the way back to 1939.
