Application Note: Custom Load Cell Solution for Tanks

J.A. King Helps Bruning & Federle with a Creative Solution After Load Cells Are Delayed

Application Note: Custom Load Cell Solution for Tanks 1

Bruning & Federle, a manufacturer of ventilation and dust collection systems, needed high capacity load cells for several large tanks. Our sales team worked with them to spec out appropriate load cells that would arrive within their desired time frame. Unfortunately, right before they were due to ship we discovered that they were to be delayed. Bruning & Federle had a hard deadline for the load cells’ arrival and tank installation, so the new ship date was unacceptable.

The Solution
In order to help them meet their deadline, our team had to get creative. The sales team worked with our engineering team to spec out load cells from another manufacturer that would work for the application and arrive on time. Because the tanks were designed to fit the load cells we initially sold, our team designed and built adaptor plates for the tops and bottoms of the mount kits so that they would fit perfectly when installing the vessels.

In the end, Bruning & Federle had the load cells that they needed, delivered in time for their installation. This is a great example of our commitment providing world class customer service. While some scale companies might be tied to just one manufacturer or not have the engineering team to create a custom solution, our team’s technical expertise allowed us to develop a creative solution that met the customer’s application needs, timeline, and budget.
