Perma Pure
Overview
Perma Pure manufactures high performance gas sample conditioning systems using the unique substance Nafion™. Nafion™ is a flourocarbon copolymer of Teflon® and sulfonic acid. The Teflon® makes the Nafion™ resistant to almost every chemical and the sulfonic acid has a very high water-of-hydration. While the Nafion™ is able to selectively transfer water vapor across its membrane, making it able to remove up to 90% of water vapor from a wet gas stream or add water vapor into dry gas stream. While transferring water vapor, it also maintains analytes in the gas sample or stream. This means that gas dryers made with Nafion™ remove the water vapor from a sample very quickly, but many chemicals and compounds are retained in the sample.
