Kordt Manual and Automatic Form Measurement

Overview

As Industry 4.0 and lean manufacturing continually push metrology onto the production floor, the challenges for more accurate measurement at the machine increase with the added pressure of minimizing cost. Traditional form measurement systems can be costly. Along with significant investment, the sensitivity of the instrument can present challenges in harsh shop environments. Due to the utilization of advanced software requiring programming, dedicated staff are needed for setup and adjustment of the entrance.

Enter Kordt’s AXICROD; a low cost, flexible, and shop-floor hardened solution. Utilizing a robust frame and work holding, the AXICORD can be placed at the machining center with no special enclosure required. By using standard gages such as dial indicators, test indicators, and LVDT sensors, costs are maintained by choosing the appropriate instrument for the application.

With the ability to mount the AXICORD vertically or horizontally, the instrument is incredibly ergonomic for operators. A broad range of mounting fixtures including three jaw and hydraulic chucks, threaded plates, and collets, the AXICORD can be tailored to the application and quickly changed by the machinist or Quality Technician.
