J.A. King is a proud sponsor of the 2016 Running of the Balls! Each fall, in the Sunset Hills neighborhood of Greensboro, NC over 3,000 people gather for a 5K under lights throughout the neighborhood trees. The 5K supports Second Harvest Food Bank, where proceeds from the event have sponsored over 1,000,000 meals to people throughout Northwest NC. Background of the lights – Throughout the neighborhood and leading up to the event, thousands of lighted balls are suspended from the trees in the yards of residents and local parks. The cumulative effect is a spectacular scene that lasts throughout the winter months. In 2016 our engineering department even built a 6 foot light ball as a centerpiece of the area!
