Introducing the THORX Motor Family From Danfoss

danfoss cam lobe motor thorxCross Company is proud to be able to provide the new THORX Cam Lobe motor from Danfoss. Designed specifically for power density and ideal for applications in construction and off-highway heavy work vehicles, THORX Cam Lobe motors are the most compact drive solutions in their size, optimizing installation space without having to sacrifice power.

Integrating the THORX motor lets you achieve better performance at top RPM while also improving high-speed efficiency and delivering world-class performance. Further, THORX motors have a wide range of mounting interfaces and shaft options, meaning they can be configured specifically for your machine.

At Cross Company’s Mobile Systems Integration group, we always aim to provide the best solutions for OEMs and other heavy vehicle manufacturers. Through our Elite level partnership with Danfoss, Cross can offer product lines that improve performance and efficiency while matching the needs of your production process, customers, and industry.

Danfoss Resource: THORX Cam Lobe Motor 1Features and Technical Benefits of Danfoss Thorx Cam Lobe Motors include

  • Optimized Machine Architecture – Envelope length that’s significantly shorter than traditional cartridge-mounted motor and gearbox combinations, saving space. Port configurations also exit off the top rather than the rear, further minimizing package footprint.
  • Advanced 2-Speed Shifting – Integrated smoothing control can achieve up to a 70% reduction in shifting shock without having to sacrifice equipment speed
  • Greater Load Capacity and Efficiency – Engineered with a larger main shaft and heavy-duty bearings for a significantly higher external load capacity
  • Integrated Dry SAHR (Spring-Applied Hydraulic Release) Brake – Utilizing a dry brake configuration (as opposed to a wet brake) leads to faster response times and quieter performance. Can also function dynamically as a service brake via dedicated brake pressure ports. Also featuring manual mechanical override capabilities.
  • Traction Control – 3WD and 4WD Anti-Slip. Offering proven traction control and anti-slip performance across multi-wheel drive equipment configurations (optimized for parallel circuits).
  • Versatility and Configuration Options – THORX motors have a wide range of mounting interfaces and shaft options, meaning they can be configured specifically for your machine.
