Cross Can Troubleshoot Scales Faster

Energy Industry Newsletter - September 2023 2

Cross technicians use a special testing device to troubleshoot scales that allows us to quickly detect faults. This allows us to get you up and running faster which means less downtime for you, saving time and money. So when your scales go down call Cross.

Bimetal vs. Gas-Actuated Thermometers

When it comes to industrial temperature measurement, two types of dial thermometers are typically used, bimetal and gas-actuated thermometers.

Which measuring principle should be used depends on a number of different factors, such as response time, temperature limits & application range. Check out this video from our Supplier WIKA. They explain the differences in bimetal vs gas-actuated thermometers, the benefits of each, and why you might want to use one or the other in particular applications.

Are you getting reliable pressure measurements?

Energy Industry Newsletter - September 2023 3

Pressure gauges are essential for monitoring pressure in a variety of applications. However, they can fail for a variety of reasons. Knowing how to identify and prevent failures ahead of time can reduce your risk of downtime.

For example, did you know vibration can cause the pointer on a pressure gauge to become erratic or inaccurate? Or that pulsating pressure can cause the same problems as vibration, and even damage the internal workings of the gauge? WIKA has put together an excellent article detailing 8 Common Reasons for Pressure Gauge Failure.

Reduce Risk

Weighing equipment in hazardous areas must not only withstand corrosion and harsh environments, but it must also operate without running the risk of igniting any flammable dust, fibers, or gas that may be present. Intrinsically safe technology offers many benefits and has become the ignition protection method of choice versus flameproof or purged enclosures.

Cross offers a range of intrinsically safe scale, load cell, and indicator options. Click below to learn more!
