Motor Driven Gearboxes

Gearboxes for Machine Electrification

Gearboxes are used to ensure your AC motor is operating at or near peak efficiency through the optimization of motor speed, and motor torque. When integrated with an AC motor, which is most efficient at a fairly high rpm band, a gearbox is able to reduce the motor transmitted speed to match the specific speed and torque requirements of your application.

Partnering with Cross for your gearboxes provides many benefits to machine and equipment manufacturers. A key value offering is our ability to customize a solution for your application. Since gearboxes are highly specific to the relevant application, we focus on helping OEM’s select the optimal gearbox for the job function of the machine. Then, we source the right product and mount it to the AC motor before delivery. This streamlined process ensures that you’re getting a fully integrated power transmission solution, ready and able to be installed on your machine.

Through our partnerships with leading brands and our team of engineers, we’re able to provide consistent solutions with reliable equipment. If you’re looking to streamline your manufacturing process and optimize your machine performance, Cross Company can help

Industrial Gearbox Application Solutions

gearbox for heavy machine electrificationEvery application is different. This can make finding the ideal gearbox for your application seem like a challenge. But with our expertise, we can work with you to simplify the complexities of industrial gearbox selection by matching the optimal motor speed with the required speed and torque for your machine’s operation. Whether you need increased torque or more precise speed control, Cross can provide a solution that meets your requirements.

At Cross, we can also offer gearboxes with advanced gear mesh technology, reducing operating noise. This is a critical benefit when electrifying a previously ICE-powered machine and provides even greater customization for your specific application.

Gearbox Functionality

Gearboxes are able to transfer power from a motor to your machinery, ensuring optimal performance through adjusting speed, torque, and direction. For many applications, these torque and speed adjustments are necessary for success.

Application-Specific Gearboxes

Every machine is different and every application has unique demands. That’s why we work with a wide range of standard gearbox sizes. That way, we can match the right motor with the right gearbox to meet your operational needs.

Versatile Gearbox Applications

We often work with machines designed for off-highway or otherwise challenging environments. In these applications, reliable performance is critical. That’s why the gearboxes we provide are built to ensure long-lasting durability and reliability.

Components For Every Part of Your Electrification Project

Cross Mobile Systems Integration works with off-highway OEMs to improve their machine design and performance. Whether it’s hydraulics, electronics, controls or a full overhaul from ICE to electrified, Cross’s team of engineers works as an extension of our customer’s engineering team. We take the time to understand the unique requirements of each piece of mobile equipment and then design, prototype and build an optimized system for the machine.

AC Motors

Converts electrical energy into mechanical power, driving the machine with efficient, high torque, AC permanent magnet motors, suited for demanding applications. It enables smooth operation, reducing wear and tear while optimizing energy use in mobile equipment.

Inverters

Regulates the conversion of DC power from the battery into AC power for the motor, ensuring smooth acceleration and precise control. Advanced inverters improve energy efficiency while supporting regenerative braking, feeding power back into the battery system.

Low Voltage DC/DC Converters

Converts high-voltage battery power to low-voltage energy for auxiliary components, maintaining efficient power distribution. This ensures stable operation for critical low-voltage systems, such as sensors, control modules, and safety features, without compromising overall power availability.

Low Voltage Bus

Distributes low-voltage power to various electrical components, ensuring stable and reliable operation across the entire system. It minimizes electrical losses and supports easy integration of additional devices, enhancing overall machine efficiency.

Machine Controller

Acts as the brain of the system, coordinating components to optimize machine operation, efficiency, and safety. It integrates sensors and communication protocols, providing real-time diagnostics and data logging for performance tracking.

Onboard Chargers

Charges the battery system using external power sources, enabling convenient recharging without removing the battery. Onboard chargers ensure fast, efficient charging, supporting various voltage levels for flexibility in different environments.

ePTO

Cross Company's Electric Power Take-Off (ePTO) solutions provide reliable and efficient electric power for mobile equipment, reducing reliance on traditional engine-driven PTOs. Ideal for applications requiring auxiliary power without engine idling, ePTO systems improve fuel efficiency, decrease emissions, and lower operating costs. without compromising overall performance.
