BSWS-R-PGZN-plus
Automatic Jaw Quick-change System
Product Overview
The automatic jaw quick-change system BSWS-R allows the top jaws of a gripper on a robot or axis gantry to be changed quickly and automatically. This increases the flexibility of the gripper and also allows the machine to run unattended. By allowing the automatic change of workpiece-specific gripper fingers, The BSWS-R is more cost-and time-efficient compared to changing the entire gripper.
As a distributor for SCHUNK, the automation team at Cross Company can develop a specialized solution for your operation, utilizing the BSWS-R-PGZN-plus series automatic jaw quick-change system, to improve your process. With a expertise in automating manual processes in a range of industries, our team can scope out the best end of arm tooling utilize for your process and implement customized options to improve quality, raise efficiency, and reduce risk.
Quick. Flexible. Cost-efficient.
The automatic jaw quick-change system BSWS-R enables the quick and fully automatic changing of the gripper fingers on a robot or axis gantry. The change process is completely carried out by the movement of the robot. When the base is retracted into the storage station, the locking bolt is actuated and unlocks the mechanism As a result, a robot or an axis gantry can easily move upwards out of the jaw quick-change system while the base remains in the deposit station.
Maximum flexibility: with the BSWS family, a single gripper can be used across multiple applications.
Saving time when converting applications: different workpieces can be handled by changing the gripper fingers.
PGN-plus-P fingerprint enables universal use and retrofitting in a wide range of Schunk gripper models.
Suitable for operation on cobots: deposit station prevents overloading of the robot through elastic mounting.
Simple finger design: screwing through the gripper finger is no longer necessary. Simply insert a thread into the finger.
Process reliability through monitoring: inductive proximity switches monitor the presence of the gripper finger in the deposit station.
No confusion of the gripper jaws possible: via finger coding using an RFID data carrier.
Sectional Diagram
The BSWS-R consists of a base, which is firmly screwed to the workpiece-specific gripper finger to be changed, and two adapter pins, which are fastened to the base jaw of the gripper. The form-fit locking mechanism ensures fast exchange of the gripper fingers. Gripper fingers are changed by retraction into the storage station, whereby the locking mechanism is activated. As a result, the gripper finger remains in the deposit station when it is extended upwards. Two adapter pins (= 1 set BSWS-AR), a base (BSWS-BR) and a storage station (BSWS-SR) are required for each gripper jaw.
