Ready To Electrify?

Our experts can work with your team to develop a complete mobile electrification solution to ensure that you have the right equipment, working together, to improve your machine performance and productivity.

Why Are DC-to-DC Converters Necessary?

DC-to-DC converters are needed for managing voltage requirements in modern electrified machines. While the primary battery system typically operates at higher voltages, in general, auxiliary systems need lower voltages (for example, 12V or 24V).

At Cross, we’re able to provide the expertise needed to bridge this power gap through high-performance, rugged DC-to-DC converters tailored to your specific application.

A few of the reasons DC-to-DC converters are necessary include

Auxiliary System Power

Auxiliary systems like lights, sensors, CANbus networks, and control systems all require stable low voltage supplies to operate

Battery Charging

DC-to-DC converters ensure the 12 volt battery stays charged and ready. This is needed as in many systems, electronics are initialized using a 12V battery before the main battery system engages.

Alternator Alternatives

In a traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) machine, alternators are needed to charge the auxiliary battery. For electrified heavy vehicles, DC-to-DC converters are able to perform this function
