Do you have a temperamental rail scale that's costing you time and money?

Chemical Industry Newsletter - January 2024 4

A company located in Albertville, AL had a rail scale that was notorious for breakdowns. Between 2018 and 2022, the company spent more than $30,000 on repairs for the scale. This cost included new load cells, indicators, remote displays, and labor.

In August of 2022, the customer decided that something had to be done. Cross Precision Measurement helped them to select the Fairbanks Intalogix Conversion Kit for their rail scale with a remote display and indicator. The cost of this upgrade was just under $8,000 (not included in the total above). Since that time, the customer has not had to make a single repair to this scale and it’s providing them with the accurate measurements that they need.

If you have a temperamental truck or rail scale that’s costing thousands of dollars in repairs, contact us. We have been in the heavy capacity scale business for over 80 years and our experts are here to help you find the perfect solution for your weighing challenges.

Improve Efficiency

Dräger Electrochemical (EC) sensors outperform other sensors in terms of longevity and accuracy due to various factors. Their larger design, featuring a patented Teflon housing, enhances robustness. The specially formulated electrolyte, with a higher quantity, contributes to a longer life cycle and superior catalytic performance, allowing the sensor to withstand extreme environmental conditions that may incapacitate smaller competitor sensors.

Reduce Risk

The Polytron® 8100 EC is Dräger’s top of the line explosion-proof transmitter for the detection of toxic gases or oxygen. It uses a high performance plug and play electrochemical Dräger Sensor to detect a specific gas. Besides having a 3-wire 4 to 20 mA analog output with relays, it also offers HART®, Modbus and Fieldbus protocol, making it compatible with most control systems.
