Maximizing Profits with Yaskawa VFDs in Automated Car Washes

A leading tunnel-style car wash operator partnered with a Yaskawa distributor to upgrade their automation systems and improve efficiency across multiple facilities. By integrating Yaskawa GA500 and GA800 Series Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) with a PLC-based system, the car wash achieved synchronized conveyor operation and optimized control of pumps, sprayers, brushes, and dryers.

The Yaskawa GA500 VFDs provided energy-efficient motor control for conveyors and washing components, while the GA800 VFDs powered high-capacity air dryers. These drives offered features like soft-start capability, stall prevention, and seamless PLC integration, resulting in reduced energy consumption, lower utility costs, and simplified troubleshooting.

The project included 38 GA500 VFDs (3-25 HP) and four GA800 VFDs (30 HP), delivering reliable performance and long-term cost savings. With Yaskawa’s advanced technology, the car wash operator continues to maximize profits in a competitive market while ensuring worry-free operation for years to come.

At Cross Company, we’re proud to partner with Yaskawa to deliver precision motion systems like these.
