Vacuum End Effectors

Vacuum End of Arm Tooling (EOAT)

Vacuum grippers are designed for applications that require picking and placing a range of materials. They use suction grippers or suction pads powered by a vacuum source and are an efficient option for many applications. Whether the application calls for tooling to pick up boxes, liquid filled bags, or anything between, Cross offers options from industry leading brands to provide the perfect solution for your process.

Take a look at some of our featured vacuum tooling and contact a Cross team member to get the full lineup of vacuum end effectors we offer.

Why Use Vacuum End Effectors?

Vacuum end of arm tooling is a type of end effector that utilizes suction to pick and place objects. It is an extremely versatile tool with many applications in pneumatic automation for production processes. Some of these uses include packaging/material handling, machine tending, testing, quality control, material removal, and custom measurement.

Robot vacuum end effectors are often made up of a vacuum pump, a suction cup, and a control system of some kind. The pump creates a vacuum inside the suction cup, which in turn creates force able to pull objects towards itself. The control systems are used to regulate the pressure of the vacuum, which allows operators to control the grip force.

For more power, positive displacement vacuum pumps are typically used. But for more value, centrifugal vacuum pumps may be the way to go. No matter your needs, Cross Automation will work directly with you to devise a pneumatic solution that can be easily integrated into your systems.
