CSIA vs. ISO

We are frequently asked whether we have ISO9001 accreditation. We do not, which usually brings up a question of why not? Cross Process Solutions was ISO9001-certified for over seventeen years. However, in 2018, we elected not to renew our accreditation and instead, prepared to be certified by the CSIA, Control Systems Integrators Association.

While ISO9001 is undoubtedly better known, the group management team believes CSIA certification is a better fit as the standard encompasses more areas of our business that are applicable to what we do – system integration. It is a rigorous process that encompasses all aspects of our operation to help ensure that we deliver first class service to our customers. Certified member status is only conferred upon those companies passing an extensive third-party audit covering nine areas of business execution:

  • General Management
  • Project Management
  • Financial Management
  • Human Resources Management
  • Supporting Activities
  • Quality Assurance Management
  • Marketing, Business Development, and Sales Management
  • System Development Life Cycle
  • Service and Support

American Systems Registrar (ASR) performed the audit to ensure that Cross Company’s Quality Management System met all elements and scope of the certification. There were no significant improvement opportunities identified during the assessment.

The Control System Integrators Association (CSIA) was founded in 1994 and is the largest organization in North America for Control System Integrators. CSIA helps members improve their business skills, provides a forum to share industry expertise, and promotes the benefits of hiring a certified control system integrator. CSIA has over 500 member companies in over 40 countries. CSIA member firms, located both in the United States and around the world, provide more than $1 billion annually in industrial automation systems.

Our CSIA accreditation is only one of the reasons why customers choose to work with Cross. Our technical expertise across a wide range of platforms, combined with our white glove customer service, means that we’re really smart and enjoyable to do business with. As a 100% employee owned company, we go the extra mile for our customers, as it also benefits each of us in the long term. We value our customers as long-term partners and we are committed to their success. But don’t take our word for it. See what our customers have to say:
