Crane/Hoist Inspection In NC and VA 1

cranes that need weighingCross Company Precision Measurement is able to offer crane and hoist inspection and load testing standards in many parts of our North Carolina and Virginia territories.

We understand that crane and load testing is a crucial part of safe operations. OSHA and ANSI/ASME have strict guidelines and tolerances that have to be followed in order to properly perform inspections and test mobile and overhead cranes. In NC and VA, Cross is able to provide detailed inspections on construction cranes and equipment as well as overhead crane and equipment and rigging equipment. We’re not a repair facility, but we can recommend repairs and/or replacement of safety and hoist equipment based on findings of the inspections.

Standards for overhead cranes can be found at: https://www.osha.gov/laws-regs/regulations/standardnumber/1910/1910.179

These standards and general statues are what inspectors must follow in order to perform inspections. Also, only trained and qualified personnel can perform these crane inspection and load test.

Load test follow industry standards to 100% of capacity of scale and 25% or so can also be customer and manufacturer specific. Load test can not exceed 125% unless customer obtains written permission from manufacturer of the hoist system.

All of our labs can supply the weights needed for load testing, but crane and hoist inspection/load testing standards are currently available in North Carolina and Virginia. Contact your local Cross lab for more information.
