This application shows the use of the collaborative 6 axes Universal Robot in conjunction with the 85 mm Robotiq electric gripper completing another step in the process of making a motor stator. With the multiple positioning ability of the gripper, this one work cell can make sure the wires are properly seated in the insulated bracket, position and control a pneumatic cutting tool to trim away the excess wire then move the completed unit to the next step.
Also of note would be the ability to program positional planes into the robot as reference for other moves. So, even though the stator holder fixture is not parallel to the robot mounting, the customer set up a reference plane and all moves for the tool would be at the correct angle from the product.
