Dräger X-act 5000 Pump Makes Measuring with Dräger Tubes Simple & Cost Effective

The handling of gases, vapors and aerosols has never been easier – Draeger’s X-act 5000 directs the air to be measured through the appropriate Draeger tube effortlessly.  Carry it with one hand or use the shoulder strap – plus you can operate it while wearing heavy work gloves.

  • Simple to operate
  • Swiping barcode loads measurement data
  • Reduced measurement time
  • Automatic adjustment of flow for technical gases
  • No external flow meter needed

Swiping Barcode Loads Measurement Data

Accuracy and reliability of measurement results is critical.  A barcode printed on the back label of a box of Draeger short-term tubes contains all the relevant measurement parameters. Simply sliding the barcode over the barcode reader of the pump automatically transfers the name of the substance to be measured, the number of strokes and the measuring range to the display.

Reduced Measurement Time - No Manual Calibration Necessary

Less time spent measuring means reduced cost for your operations. Draeger’s X-act 5000 presents a new concept that reduces the average measurement time for certain Draeger Tubes by 15-20%.  The key principle is the ability to provide the required flow characteristics of the Draeger short-term tubes on the spot….no manual calibration is necessary.  Plus, the internal pump is also designed to use extension hoses up to 30 meters without any time needed to correct the concentration on read from the Draeger Tube.

Automatic Adjustment of Flow for Technical Gases

Draeger’s short term tubes are calibrated for measurements in ambient air. Technical gases have a different viscosity than ambient air.  Therefore the flow of the pump must be set accordingly. Following the operating steps in the Technical Gases mode, the X-act 5000 will automatically be adjusted to the required flow parameter and the measurement result can be read directly.

No External Flow Meter Needed

The X-act 5000 does not require the use of an external flow meter for sampling tubes or specialized sets. The flow rate is set using the intuitive menu with a few button presses. After setting the sampling time the pump can be started immediately. The pump will stop automatically at the end of the measurement.

Did you know… Cross Company is an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan). Our ESOP started in 1979 and as of 2006, we are 100% employee-owned! Learn more about our ESOP and how that benefits both team members and our customers.
Did you know... the precision measurement group at Cross was founded in 1939 by our current CEO's grandfather, Jim King. That's a whole lot of calibration!
Did you know... A fingerprint weighs about 50 micrograms. We know, we weighed it! The residue left from a finger can actually make a difference in weight results which is why we wear gloves when we calibrate weights. For reference, a sheet of paper is about 4.5 grams, that’s 4.5 million micrograms.
Did you know… Cross Company has grown significantly since our start in 1954. Over the years we've acquired 26 companies! Today, our five groups have expertise in everything from industrial automation to precision measurement, and industry knowledge going all the way back to 1939.
