Groth Emergency Pressure Relief Valves

Groth main logo

Product Overview

Emergency pressure relief valves are designed to provide emergency relief capacity beyond that furnished by normal operating pressure relief valves.  They protect against tank rupture or explosion caused by:

  • Excessive internal pressure due to transport pumping or pump in/pump out
  • Excessive internal pressure due to explosive or fire conditions

The ERV relieves excessive pressure build up, then reseats when pressure has dissipated.

Groth’s range of emergency relief valves come in three types: Free lifting covers, hinged covers and spring loaded covers.

Groth emergency pressure relief valves:

  • Series 2000 with free lifting cover
    • Features corrosion resistant material
    • Fluoropolymer “cushioned air” pallet and peripheral guiding ensures proper alignment and integrity of seating
    • Available with removable stops to restrict the lift of the cover
    • Model 2000a is for pressure only while Model 2050a is for both pressure and vacuum relief
  • Series 2100 spring loaded cover
    • Designed for pressure only
    • Corrosion resistant materials
    • Spring-loaded design includes a self-closing feature.  The springs are independently adjusted which load the cover to the Buna-N or Viton polymer for a tight seal at the seating
  • Series 2400 with hinged cover
    • Design features a hinge with a lift stop for positive reseating
    • Easy access manway combined with emergency relief
    • Made of corrosion resistant materials
    • Model 2400a is for pressure only whereas Model 2450a is for both pressure and vacuum relief
