Fairbanks Logo

Product Overview

The Fairbanks 2800 Series intrinsically safe indicator with Intalogix increases the accuracy, efficiency, and safety of your hazardous weighing application. These indicators combine a rugged, intrinsically safe design with Fairbanks’ Intalogix technology. Intalogix is Fairbanks’ state-of-the-art digital technology for load cell communication. It offers superior load cell diagnostics, easy mV calibration, and error messages. The 2800 Series indicator with Intalogix notifies operators immediately when load cell problems occur and enables technicians to quickly diagnose and fix the problem- reducing downtime and lost production.

The 2800 Series indicators are suitable for a wide variety of applications including manual or automated batching, and are washdown safe. Communication with peripherals such as printers or PLCs is possible utilizing the 5806 fiber optic cable and 2860 data converter.

The precision measurement group at Cross Company has been working with truck scales in a range of applications since 1939. We have sales territories and local calibration laboratories across the U.S. so you can work with our local teams all the way through the process, from sale to your annual service. This ensures you not only get the right product, but maintain quality year after year. Contact our team to see if the FB2800 Series indicator is the best indicator for your operation.

Features and Benefits

Fairbanks’ intrinsically safe 2800 Series Instrument is designed to perform with virtually any scale system. The first Fairbanks instrument with the ability to operate in hazardous environments, it features Intalogix® Technology. With that exclusive, digital load cell communications technology That means  perfect for numerous chemical and food processing applications such as manual batching, auto batching, setpoint and PLC interfacing via 4 to 20mA.

Equipped with dual displays

The 2800 has a seven segment liquid crystal display (LCD) for communicating weight data and a secondary 16 character alphanumeric LCD for operator prompts and messages.

Programmable Zero Band Error

This helps eliminate the possibility of an operator unintentionally masking an error or “zeroing” the error off.

Up to eight setpoints

Relays can be enabled using the 2800’s Setpoint Accessory Box. Four modes of setpoint operation are standard on the instrument: setpoint mode, check weigh mode, batch mode and auto batch mode.

Easy to Read Controls

Relay control buttons are located on the front of the instrument in a large, bright yellow, easy-to-read design.

Front panel programmable

Target weights are quick and easy to change as your processes change throughout the day.

Peak Hold function

This allows the greatest net weight value to be held in memory until the Clear key is pressed.

Passive Smart High Resolution

Features a passive Smart high resolution 4 to 20 mA analog output with resolution of up to 65536 (16 bit).

Intrinsically Safe Indicator

Factory Mutual (FM) entity approved for Classes I, II, and III, Divisions 1 and 2, Groups A, B, C, D, E, F, and G

Did you know… Cross Company is an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan). Our ESOP started in 1979 and as of 2006, we are 100% employee-owned! Learn more about our ESOP and how that benefits both team members and our customers.
Did you know... the precision measurement group at Cross was founded in 1939 by our current CEO's grandfather, Jim King. That's a whole lot of calibration!
Did you know... A fingerprint weighs about 50 micrograms. We know, we weighed it! The residue left from a finger can actually make a difference in weight results which is why we wear gloves when we calibrate weights. For reference, a sheet of paper is about 4.5 grams, that’s 4.5 million micrograms.
Did you know… Cross Company has grown significantly since our start in 1954. Over the years we've acquired 26 companies! Today, our five groups have expertise in everything from industrial automation to precision measurement, and industry knowledge going all the way back to 1939.
