Palmetto Scale Inc. was established in 1958, providing installation, repair, and maintenance of scale systems ranging from bench scales to rail scales. Based in Columbia, SC, they offered services across the Southeast, U.S. and grew from just two employees to a complete service organization for sales, construction, computer programming and industrial services.

In 2011, Palmetto Scale was acquired by J.A. King, which would go on to become our precision measurement group. The addition of Palmetto scale further expanded our footprint into the Southeast, allowing our team to better serve customers across the state of South Carolina. Today, our Columbia location is a full service calibration laboratory, offering scale calibration services, in addition to a range of other precision measurement services.
