Schroeder Industries Application – Removing Varnish in Oil of Plastic Injection Molding Machine

Supplier Resource

Take a look at this technical application bulletin from Schroeder Industries: “Removing Varnish in Oil of Plastic Injection Molding Machine“.

A manufacturer of food packaging faced challenges with oil aging products forming quickly due to the low conductivity and dissolving capacity of their food oil, leading to deposits after minimal operating hours and an MPC (membrane patch colorimetry) value exceeding 40. Despite using competitor products, no significant improvement in oil service life was achieved. Seeking to extend oil service life, reduce consumption, and lower costs, they tested Schroeder’s OLF15 offline filter unit on a plastic injection molding machine, equipped with high-capacity 2 μm Dimicron elements.

Regular laboratory analyses showed effective cleaning performance, especially with reduced oil temperatures. In contrast, a competitor’s product yielded minimal improvement. The adoption of Schroeder’s solution resulted in a threefold increase in oil service life, reduced operating costs, enhanced plant availability, and efficient cleaning compared to competitors.
