Cross partners with Thermoteknix to help slow the spread of COVID-19 with a temperature monitoring system
Gastonia, NC, May 19, 2020 – Cross Company has announced a new partnership with Thermoteknix to distribute its FevIR Scan 2 fever screening system. This complete temperature monitoring system allows employers to monitor the temperature of employees as they enter their facility without having to stop each employee individually.
“We have heard from a number of our customers that one of their chief concerns following was how to bring employees back into their facilities safely”, said Lynn Crump, President of Cross Robotics and Machine Automation group. “The FevIR Scan 2 is an excellent solution to the problem of how to monitor the temperature of employees at large facilities.”
The system itself was developed by Thermoteknix in 2003 in response to the SARS epidemic, and has been used globally in areas such as airports, train stations, hospitals, factories, and office buildings to monitor the temperature of individuals to prevent the spread of infectious disease. It provides the user with real-time non-contact temperature detection, measurement, and alarming for heavy traffic areas. The FevIR Scan 2 system includes everything the end-user needs for set up including camera, calibration reference device, mounting equipment, as well as a laptop with the needed software.
This system meets international standards, IEC 80601-2-59 and ISO/TR 13154, for human febrile temperature screening by focusing on the inner canthus, or the inner corner of the eye socket, which is as close as possible to the core temperature. Though the device is not intended for diagnosis of any type, temperature checks can be an effective way to identify and triage individuals who may be infected.
