Combi Coolers Save Space in Tier 4 Engine Applications

Mike McVay | March 18th, 2015

We have seen an increase in the number of customers looking for complete cooling solutions for their mobile equipment lately. In this video I discuss one solution we provided to an OEM customer who was looking to provide engine cooling for a newly selected Tier 4 engine.

After reviewing his package requirements, we were able to save the customer installation time and improve the overall fit and aesthetics of his system by wrapping hydraulic cooling into the engine cooling package as well. This solution saved money, space, and installation time as well as simplifying mounting bracketry and plumbing runs.

When deciding whether to use the cooler supplied by your engine distributor or use a more customized solution consider these points:

  • A custom combi cooler can add additional cooling functions such as hydraulic functions into a single package.
  • Most of our customers have unique space constraints in their engine compartments – custom combi coolers allow us to tailor length-width-height requirements to match your size needs.
  • In cases where the engine is buried in the machine, or space constraints will simply not allow the cooling system to be mounted near the engine, we can easily package a custom combi cooler with a hydraulic fan drive which allows total flexibility in the choice of mounting location.

Thank you for taking the time to watch my video. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I you think we can help you with a tailored cooling solution.

High-Flow Advanced Control Valves

David Saunders | November 26th, 2018 In Mobile Hydraulics, we most commonly encounter actuator flows from fractions of a gallon per minute (gpm) to around 25 gpm. However, there are applications where much more than that is necessary to result in the speeds and forces required by the task. With smaller flows, there is an array
